This is what the work actually looks like: you show up on time, you know what you’re building that day, and you leave the site cleaner than you found it. The price the homeowner approved before you got there is the price they’ll pay when you leave. You don’t have to talk around change orders or explain why the number moved. It doesn’t move. That’s the Garrison Standard, and it’s the way Reed Calloway has run Fielding ADU Builders since 2006.
We build room additions, garage conversions, and accessory dwelling units – conventional stick-frame and prefab alike. The work is real, the schedule is real, and the crew you’ll work with holds itself to a written code. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to spend your days, keep reading.
Who We’re Looking For
- ADU Installer / Field Technician: You can read a plan, work cleanly inside a tight lot, and you don’t need someone watching you to do it right.
- Garage Conversion Specialist: You understand what it takes to turn a two-car slab into livable square footage – framing, insulation, electrical rough-in coordination, the works.
- Room Addition Carpenter / Framer: You frame square, you pull permits without being told to, and you finish what you start.
- Prefab and Modular ADU Coordinator: You have worked with manufactured building systems – or you learn fast – and you can keep a delivery and placement schedule moving without drama.
- Field Apprentice: You’re newer to the trades, you take direction well, and you show up inside the window every single time.
- Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative: You are calm on the phone at odd hours, you communicate clearly without a script, and you understand that the homeowner on the other end is trusting you with their property.
What We Offer
Real Training and a Clear Path
Apprentices at Fielding don’t shadow someone for a week and then get left alone on a job site. You work alongside experienced lead technicians long enough to understand why each step matters – not just how to do it. The path from apprentice to lead is defined, not vague. When you’re ready to move up, you’ll know it and so will we.
Work You Can Actually Stand Behind
Every project we finish is covered by a written one-year guarantee. That matters to you as a crew member because it means we build things the right way from the start. You won’t be asked to cut corners to hit a margin. The Garrison Standard means the job gets done by the book, the first time, and the site gets left clean and squared away.
A National Brand, a Local Crew
Fielding ADU Builders is an independently owned and operated member of the Garrison Partners family. You get the backing of a national organization – vetted platforms like Abodu, Cover, Dvele, Mighty Buildings, Boxabl, and Plant Prefab, plus proven materials like James Hardie siding – while working with a local crew that knows its own market. It’s not a franchise feel. It’s a local business with national-grade discipline behind it.
Steady, Consistent Demand
ADU construction isn’t slowing down. Zoning reforms across the country have opened up millions of lots to accessory dwelling units that didn’t qualify before. Garage conversions and room additions move with that same demand. The pipeline here isn’t dependent on one builder or one housing cycle – it’s built on a category that is growing.
No Experience? Read This.

If you’ve spent time in general construction, property maintenance, moving and installation, or any trade that required you to follow a sequence and leave a space better than you found it, more transfers here than you’d think.
We teach the Fielding method from the first week: how we price a job, how we communicate with homeowners, how we document progress, and how we handle the rare moment when something doesn’t go the way it was planned. The first months are structured. You’ll work with a lead on every project. You won’t be handed a set of plans and wished luck.
What we can’t teach is the attitude. Showing up on time, doing what you said you’d do, and caring whether the site is clean when you leave – that has to come with you. If it does, the rest is buildable.
